Ulto Destructo
Ulto Destructo is a turn-based, tile-based strategy prototype where you lead a roaming techno-barbarian tribe through a dead-god wasteland. Your goal in this test build is to grow your tribe, manage resources, and carve a path through threats until you find and destroy Dr. Skull.
How to play
Click tiles to reveal or interact with them. Choose an action from the tile menu (actions cost AP - the yellow balls in the top right corner), then end your turn with the End Turn button in the bottom right.
Current objective: Find and destroy Dr. Skull.
Resolution
If the game window is outside of the browser window you should zoom the browser window out.
Resources
- Population: Required for building/occupying certain tiles and for committing units to combat; if it drops too low you may be unable to take key actions.
- Food: Consumed each turn; if you cannot pay food upkeep, you will lose population and/or get stuck.
- Spoils: General-purpose currency used to pay costs for actions, buildings, trades, and some tiles.
- Fuel: Spent on high-impact actions and some tile interactions; also used by certain combat options.
- Ammo: Spent when using ranged weapons or ammo-based combat actions (ammo is not consumed by normal upkeep).
- Dread: 0–100 meter that determines the current Dread Tier; higher tiers add more negative events to the dread event pool.
- Menace: 0–100 meter that unlocks more aggressive options and improves intimidation/violence-based outcomes (used by extortion/confederation/combat calculations where applicable).
Notes
This is a development build. You currently cannot lose the game by hitting 0 Population, but it will likely softlock your run. The GUI is rudimentary and text may overlap and/or run out of the screen. Combat is also very hard in this iteration due to the omission of weapons.
